Hello again fur-friends!
As many of you know I was very sick a couple of weeks ago. I had to have surgery for something called a mesenteric torsion. It was very scary and mom is still watching me very carefully. While Mom is still pretty freaked out, I am feeling great and acting like a puppy.
Since my surgery, Mom has gone back to feeding me a diet of 75% homemade food. Last week, I had Chicken and pumpkin. YUM YUM YUM! This week I am having Thanksgiving! Yep, mom made me a batch of turkey and sweet potato. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! I am loving this meal and wanted to share it with you so your human can make it for you too. It is super easy and really cheap.
- Ask your human to purchase turkey legs or turkey wings at the store along with a sweet potato;
- Put the turkey pieces and the potatoes into a baking dish with a little water;
- Roast at 350 degrees for about 1 hour;
- Let cool and separate the meat from the bones;
- Mix the turkey and sweet potato, serve alone or on top of your regular food.
I am not allowed to have dry food but that’s fine because Mom is not a fan of kibble. To make sure I get the right nutrients I am eating Stalla and Chewy’s freeze dried raw and I am trying out Happy Dog Food, which is yummy, as 25% of my food intake.
The best part!….. Mom is testing turkey and sweet potato ‘ Thanksgiving Crispies’ to add to the snacks in our store. OMG! I can’t wait.
I hope your human makes this for you soon. You may want to suggest that they stop at the market on the way home from work later. Don’t forget to love and obey your human it just makes life easier and keeps the trainer away (BOL).
*Note from the human: Neither Coco Reports nor Dog Pack Snacks received any compensation from Stella and Chewy’s or Happy Dog Food. We mentioned them in this post because Coco is currently eating food from those companies.
